James RodrÃguez provided both assists as Colombia made a winning start to the Copa America
Goals from Daniel Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma sealed victory
James RodrÃguez created both goals in Colombia's 2-1 victory over Paraguay in their opening Copa America Group D game in Houston on Monday.
Colombia dominated the majority of the match and took the lead in the 11th minute when Daniel Muñoz fired home from close range after being teed up by RodrÃguez.
RodrÃguez was also the architect of Colombia's second goal, which came in the 39th minute. The Real Madrid midfielder picked out Jefferson Lerma with a perfectly-weighted pass, and the Bournemouth midfielder made no mistake with a clinical finish.
Paraguay pulled a goal back in the second half through Julio Enciso, but Colombia held on to claim all three points.
