“Can Win the League” – Rob McElhenney Hits Back at Doubters With Bold Claim After Wrexham’s Strong League One Start
Rob McElhenney confident of Wrexham’s League One promotion chances
Wrexham co-owner, Rob McElhenney, has hit back at doubters who questioned the club's League One promotion chances, insisting that they "can win the league".
The Welsh side have made a strong start to the season, winning four of their first six matches and sitting top of the table.
McElhenney’s bold claim
McElhenney, speaking to the BBC, said: "I think we can win the league. I know that sounds crazy, but I really believe it."
The American actor and producer added: "We have a great squad, a great manager and a great set of fans. I think we have everything we need to be successful."
Wrexham’s strong start
Wrexham's strong start to the season has surprised many, given that they were only promoted from the National League last season.
However, McElhenney believes that the club has what it takes to compete at a higher level.
"We're not just here to make up the numbers," he said. "We're here to win."
McElhenney’s ambitious plans
McElhenney's bold claim is a sign of his ambitious plans for Wrexham.
The club is currently undergoing a major redevelopment of its stadium, and McElhenney has also spoken about his desire to see Wrexham play in the Premier League.
Whether or not Wrexham can achieve their goals remains to be seen, but there is no doubt that McElhenney is a man with big ambitions.
